As you sat down with your team at the end of 2017, I am sure that many of you made plans to decrease the number of customers you have and cut your profits in 2018. Decreasing conversion rates, driving bounce rates higher, and keeping time on page above 5 seconds were also likely to be high on your priority list.

Some of you may be saying “that is the complete opposite of what I want.” Unfortunately, it is not what we say that matters it’s what we DO. If you actually want to attract more clients and keep them on your site in 2018, here are some of the problems you need to identify and some tools to help you improve. Fixing your website to draw traffic and rank on the search engines is more than just luck. It takes time and usually the help of a professional (like Real Estate Blog Experts, for example).

Here are 6 Tips To Help You Succeed in 2018.

1.  Have You Visited Google Lately?
Google has many tools to help your business for 2018.Google has made some major changes and you should be looking at Google products to help you in business. Google Search Console is a free service offered by Google that helps you monitor and maintain your site’s presence in Google Search results. You don’t have to sign up for Search Console for your site to be included in Google’s search results, but doing so can help you understand how Google views your site and optimize its performance in search results.

2.  Is My Website Mobile Friendly?
If you are not sure whether your site is mobile-friendly or not, than you are not spending enough time with your website. enough attention to your website. However, Google does have a tool for that. Just plug in the URL of your website and the tool will tell you if you site is mobile friendly or not. This IS a big deal and we will revisit this in the near future here on Real Estate Blog Experts. If your site is not mobile friendly or mobile friendly enough, people will move on.

Mobile has never been more relevant to marketers. Development and availability of mobile hardware has led to an increased capacity to communicate with others and increased opportunities for marketers to access consumers. Check out these Statistic for 2017.

3.  Does Your Website Have a Need for Speed?
Having a slow website can cost you conversions and result in lower online search rankings. Find out how your site stacks up using a Website Speed Tester.  If your site has issues, then you are going to want to fix them ASAP! Visitors don’t like to wait for sites to load. If your site takes longer than 2 or 3 seconds, your potential clients are going elsewhere! This certainly isn’t what you want, is it? Most Speed Test sites will give you information about what the problems are, but they don’t go step-by-step to help you fix them! Yikes!  Remember, it is not about being perfect, it is about improving!

4.  Are You Diverse Enough?
Making sure you have a diverse and quality back-link profile is very important. Google Webmaster Tools is another free tool that you can use to gain valuable insight into how Google sees your site. Checking your back links is something you should be doing periodically (in your spare time!)  so you can identify and remove any bad links before they can harm your site. You want back-links from well-ranked websites. The most important advice here is don’t go to a company that does back-links. 99% of them are going to give you back links, but they will be from spammy websites and this, may harm your website big time!

5.  How Are Your Tags Doing?
Having and maintaining a website and/or blog is not as easy as it seems. Anybody can write an article or post but is it being done right? If not, you are getting squat from all that work you have been doing! To get results from these high level marketing tools, you really need to know what you are doing so your blog gets the love online. Search engines look for many things to rank your website. You need to be sure you include these items in your post or it will be for naught. Some of the things they look for are Meta Tags and Descriptions, Alt tags for graphics and pictures, alt tags for hyper links, smaller graphic sizes and more. If you aren’t working with these options, your website won’t get the online exposure you need to be found in SERPS and by the search engines.

6.  Do You Know Who’s Talking About You?
I hope you have been working hard to get your website mobile and user friendly. Now, I bet you are dying to know if people love, hate, or even talk about your company. But how? I have to say that I really LOVE Google! They have lots and lots of tools to make your life easier. So the question was, how do you know if people are talking about your site and your company? Google Alerts is another freebie to add to your toolbox. All you have to do is setup an alert for your company name and you will get emails when new online mentions are found. There are many terms to track to see what is going on. Track your name, your competition, your area, your market, etc. Not only will you see things right away, but you will get additional information about your local area to blog about. You can find out what your competition is up to and so much more. Think about it!

While many of you know about the five tools mentioned above, many of you are not using them to their full potential. Before you worry about adding expensive tracking tools to your arsenal, take some time to get familiar with the free tools Google offers.
